We are seeking a System Engineer with proven signaling experience, preferably in driverless metro systems, to lead key design, implementation, and system acceptance activities as Signaling Work Stream Leader.

    About the project
We’re in the early phase of the 3xR project (Rolling Stock, Re-signaling, Reinvestment), a major brownfield initiative to upgrade the signaling systems and rolling stock. The goal is to improve reliability, efficiency, and future readiness, while ensuring seamless migration with minimal disruption to our 24/7 driverless metro operations.

We’re looking for a motivated engineer with leadership skills and a background in signaling architecture, network infrastructure, and railway communication systems.

    Key responsibilities

    • Manage signaling work packages and schedules
    • Define design concepts and integrate communication systems (CBTC, IT, networks)
    • Review specs, interfaces, and system architectures
    • Coordinate with suppliers and consultants during procurement, design, and implementation
    • Support migration strategies, testing (FAT, SAT), and validation
    • Ensure integration with wider infrastructure (SCADA, control centers, etc.)
    • Contribute to RAMS documentation and cybersecurity planning
    • Ensure compliance with EU and Danish rail safety standards

    Technical skills

    • Solid knowledge of radio-based signaling systems, preferably in driverless metros
    • Experience with complex system integration, train-track communication
    • IP networking, fiber optics, routers/switches, protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, VLAN)
    • Familiarity with tools like DOORS and standards like EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50159, IEC 62443

    Languages

    • Fluent English (required); Danish is a plus or willingness to learn

    Personal qualities
You’re professionally dedicated, collaborative, and solution-oriented. You thrive in complex projects, take ownership, and share knowledge across teams.

    The Company
Metroselskabet leads large-scale transport projects in Greater Copenhagen. You'll join the Transportation Systems Unit, a team of 25 specialists ensuring delivery and compliance of systems throughout all project phases – from analysis and design to testing and operation.

    What we offer
A meaningful and challenging role in a dynamic organization with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and work-life balance. Attractive salary and conditions are provided.

    Interested?
The application deadline is 29 June 2025. However, we will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis. Please note that due to the summer holiday period, the final first-round interviews may not take place until week 30.
