Development Engineer on Wind Turbine Structures Inspection, Visualization and Code Development - DTU Wind
We are looking for a research engineer who drives the technical development of key knowledge, methods, and tools focusing on wind turbine inspection, visualization, and code development around the AQUADA technology developed at DTU Wind. Contributing to project ideas, scientific papers and education will also be a part of the job.
The job
You will join our section of Structural Virtual Testing and Digitalization, where you can have an important role in developing applied research and technologies to reduce the time required for and increase the value of physical testing of wind turbine structural components using high-performance virtual testing and cutting-edge digital technologies. The section is part of the division of Wind Energy Materials and Components in the DTU Wind department.
Our expectations of you
- MSc or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Good technical experience in at least one of the technologies relevant to wind turbine blades, such as damage inspection, SHM, and NDT, focusing on structural damage in composite blades and other components
- Good experience with using state-of-the-art SHM and/or NDT techniques, such as thermography, relevant to AQUADA technology
- Experienced with engineering coding in Python and/or MATLAB
- Technical knowledge of camera hardware, such as RGB and thermal cameras
- Hands-on knowledge of drones and their operation, A1/A3 license an advantage
- Experienced with data processing of blate testing results and subsequent analysis
- Experienced with writing technical reports and scientific papers
- A good analytical approach and the ability to work systematically and well-organized
- Experience with project work and delivering to set deadlines
- Good at interpersonal communication and teamwork
- Good communication skills (written and oral) in English
- Good communication skills (written and oral) in Danish are an advantage
- Work as part of a team

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The position is a full-time permanent position. The place of work is Risø Campus in Roskilde.
