Senior Electrical Engineer
Drive real-world energy solutions by working hands-on with MV/LV systems, leading upgrades, troubleshooting complex challenges, ensuring compliance, and seeing your ideas through from engineering design to onsite implementation across diverse power plants worldwide.
BWSC – Ever better energy!
Join us in our mission in building a world of sustainable energy and make a meaningful impact on the world of power generation and energy conversion.
BWSC is a leading player in the power generation industry, specializing in the service, operations, and maintenance of power plants. We are at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions, working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship sets us apart in the industry.
The position
You will work hands-on with MV/LV systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, UPS, and LV installations within industrial power plants, tackling a broad range of technical challenges across multiple sites.
The role blends office-based engineering with hands-on site work, including testing, surveys, troubleshooting, and project implementation. Some travel is expected as part of the role, but the extent will depend on the candidate’s profile, experience, and preferences, providing a dynamic and varied work environment.
Within a larger engineering function, you will be part of a smaller, collaborative team where your expertise directly shapes solutions and gives you ownership of projects from concept to on-site delivery. At the same time, you will benefit from the wider network of colleagues for guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
Your responsibilities include:
- Take ownership of the design and engineering of electrical systems, equipment, and installations for projects and operating plants, including modifications, system upgrades, and equipment replacements across MV/LV scope.
- Maintain and update electrical design documentation, drawings, and technical records in support of system changes and upgrades.
- Define and verify technical specifications to support procurement of generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, LV equipment, and associated cable systems and routing.
- Oversee supplier documentation and ensure all work complies with applicable standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and technical guidance for operating plants, both remotely and on-site.
- Conduct and oversee electrical surveys, inspections, and condition assessments to maintain system reliability.
- Lead and participate in FAT, SAT, and on-site testing in collaboration with suppliers and OEMs.
- Provide technical input to sales activities, tender processes, and early project proposals
Qualifications
We are looking for a dedicated electrical engineer who takes initiative, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and thrives in a role where your expertise directly shapes real-world solutions.
We foresee that the ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Power / Systems Engineering, or Marine Engineering with an electrical background.
- Strong experience with MV/LV systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protection, UPS, and LV installations.
- Practical understanding of electrical installations in power plants, industrial facilities, PtX, or similar technical environments.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, testing, commissioning (FAT/SAT), and field engineering in live or operating facilities.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and follow solutions from concept through on-site implementation.
- Experience with technical documentation, preparing specifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and OEMs.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and general IT tools.
- Ability to contribute technical input to tender processes, early technical proposals, and sales support.
Bonus qualifications (an advantage, not required):
- Experience with BESS, PV systems, or hybrid energy systems.
- Experience with COMOS plant engineering software.
What do we offer?
By joining BWSC, you get the chance to impact and contribute to meaningful projects that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. You will join a team where your engineering insight matters, where you can influence technical decisions, and where you get to work with equipment and challenges that most engineers rarely encounter.
The role offers room to grow your expertise, explore new ideas, and work with a wide range of technologies and locations. We offer an exciting position in a dynamic, skilled, and collaborative work environment, with ample opportunities for professional development and growth.
We have a good canteen, fitness facilities, and an active Staff Club contributing with various types of events and activities. Our HQ is located in Allerød, near the train station and just a 30-minute ride from the centre of Copenhagen
We look forward to hearing from you
