Sr. Lean Process Engineer - Focus Marine

Join a project that’s not just exciting—it’s world-changing! We’re looking for talented individuals to be part of something truly remarkable. If you’re driven by challenge and the chance to make a lasting impact, this is the perfect place for you. Don’t just be a part of the future—help create it.

About FLC:

At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel, portals and ramps on both ends of the tunnel, in Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden.

We are also building the facilities for prefabricating tunnel elements as well as accommodation facilities, also known as the “Tunnel village” in Rødbyhavn, which provides housing for FLC workers.

About the department:

FLC is looking for a Senior Lean Process Engineer to strengthen our continuous improvement efforts across all marine activities that support the immersion of the tunnel elements. Your focus will be on increasing the productivity of our marine operations, improving weather‑driven planning & readiness and optimizing the interfaces between marine, logistics, engineering and onshore production teams. You will work hands-on on vessels, pontoons and in the marine control environment, applying Industrial and Lean methods to stabilize cycles, reduce waiting times and create predictable, data‑driven operations across the full marine value chain.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead optimization initiatives for marine productivity, including machine utilization, vessel waiting times, and cycle stability

  • Analyze and improve marine processes from dredging to trench preparation, gravel bed installation and immersion readiness

  • Visualize bottlenecks and waiting-time boards for ships and pontoons to create transparency for decision-making

  • Work hands-on on vessels to identify improvement potentials e.g. via Lean Methods directly in the operational environment

  • Optimize interfaces between dredging, immersion, logistics, engineering, planning and production teams - including the interface to onshore activities

  • Improve weather-driven planning by supporting reliable forecasts, definition of activities for bad weather and ramp-up logic for good weather

  • Introduce and strengthen daily Marine Shopfloor routines and ensure KPI ownership within operational teams

  • Support cross-functional teams in lessons-learned processes for immersion cycles and operations execution - also together with onshore colleagues

  • Challenge and support marine operations in defining and interpreting KPIs using PowerBI and operational data

  • Facilitate marine-focused Lean workshops, training sessions and problem-solving activities

Qualifications:

  • Degree in civil engineering, industrial engineering, marine engineering, mechanical engineering or similar

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in Lean Process Engineering, marine operations or offshore construction

  • Hands-on mindset with readiness to work directly on vessels, pontoons and outdoor environments

  • Experience with dredging, immersion, marine logistics or trenching works is a strong advantage

  • Proven experience in applying Lean methods (Value Stream, bottleneck analysis, 5S, etc.)

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to influence across marine and technical teams

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Conditions:

FLC considers transparent management structures, short decision-making channels, and a team-oriented environment to be extremely important. The FLC staff is expected to set themselves targets, achieve them independently, and take responsibility for their actions – irrespective of their position in the company.

FLC offers attractive employment conditions on a Danish contract according to The Danish Salaried Employees Act (Funktionærloven). Pension health insurance and lunch arrangement will be available.

Workplace:

Rodbyhavn, Lolland

Application:

We look forward to receiving your application (in English) as soon as possible. Applications received will be processed on an ongoing basis, and we will complete the recruitment once we have found the right profile.
