Our Research and Development department “Structure & Dynamics" is looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer with a good theoretical knowledge and the ability to put theory into practice. Everllence develop, design, test and service two-stroke engines that use the least possible fuel and emit the fewest possible harmful particles. You will find our solutions on large ships all over the world as 50% of world trade is powered by engines from Everllence - your contribution will have an impact. You will play an important role in: You will be an important part of the design and development of the engine structure of our large 2-stroke marine engines. The work will be carried out in close cooperation with the design office and experts across R&D. This is a unique opportunity to turn analysis into innovation and see your ideas realized on engines powering ships worldwide. You will use and work with the development of our scripted workflow, and validate your designs through real-world measurements, including large-scale datasets collected from engines in operation worldwide. Occasional travel may be part of the job. The work includes, but is not limited to: Performing structural and fatigue analysis of the engine structural components, using tools such as Abaqus and Femfat Developing and optimizing concepts and designs Validating your simulation models against measurements Translating service experience and field data into improved design criteria Contributing to the development of automated workflows and scripting tools Conducting root cause failure analyses Providing support to our design office, field service engineers, engine builders, and ship owners We imagine that you: To fill this important role, we expect that you are/have: Relevant formal education in mechanical engineering or similar. Strong interest in structural mechanics, with experience in FE analysis Work systematically and are results-oriented Have a curious mindset and a drive to understand the boundary conditions for the components Have experience with scripting or programming Welcome to R&D Structure & Dynamics We are world leading analysis and design specialists within mechanical design of 2-stroke engines dedicated to carbon neutral transport. In the Structure & Dynamics department, we are responsible for the new design and development of the engine structure, crankshaft, connecting rod and bearings. We also have specialists working with engine dynamics, torsional vibration and structural vibration.
