At Weibel Scientific, we develop and produce high performance radar systems used worldwide. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Antenna group, where you will work closely with colleagues across mechanics, production, RF, electronics, and testing. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys working together with others. We value collaboration, well-documented and reliable solutions, and offer the opportunity to be involved throughout the entire design process from early concepts to finished hardware running in production. The role in practice You will work with mechanical design and development of antenna systems, collaborating closely with production and participating in prototyping, testing, and documentation to ensure robust and manufacturable solutions. Your primary tasks will be: Designing and developing mechanical solutions for new antenna systems Maintaining and further developing our existing mechanical antenna platforms with focus on: Tolerances and fit Robustness and repeatable quality Correct documentation Working closely with production to optimize designs and manufacturing methods Participating in prototype assembly, testing, and design reviews Supporting production with clear and up to date technical documentation Prototyping is an important part of our workflow and is supported by our in house metal workshop and polymer 3D printing facilities. About you We imagine that you: Have a degree in Mechanical Engineering Have experience with mechanical design, production, and qualification of complex systems Are familiar with machining of metal parts Understand the challenges of designing mechanical systems for demanding environments Enjoy collaborating, discussing solutions, and sharing knowledge with colleagues Can work independently on defined tasks while staying aligned with the team Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault is an advantage. Your future team You will join a mechanical team of seven experienced and dedicated colleagues, working as part of Weibel’s Antenna group. The group includes more than 40 engineers working with mechanics, power solutions, microwave technology, and analog and digital hardware. We work with early cross disciplinary collaboration and value open, respectful dialogue. The team environment is informal, supportive, and focused on helping each other succeed.
