Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Product Applications & Controls Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market. The Product Applications and Controls R&D (PAC) organization consists of skilled designers, engineers, and project managers located primarily in Denmark, Portugal, and India. Together, they bring diverse technical expertise that drives the development of advanced software solutions supporting plant development, plant operations, and turbine products. Responsibilities Design and implement embedded software solutions for control systems in both wind turbines and power plants Develop low-level software stacks, including device drivers, communication protocols, and real-time control algorithms Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware components Conduct software testing and validation to ensure the reliability and performance of control systems Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for software development processes Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, with 3-7 years of relevant industry experience Proficiency in C++, with hands on experience developing robust and efficient software solutions Demonstrated experience in embedded software development, particularly within real time operating system (RTOS) environments Practical knowledge of hardware interfaces and industrial communication protocols such as Serial, Modbus, and CAN Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development environments such as Visual Studio Competencies Demonstrated ability to perform detailed analysis and effectively resolve complex technical problems Excellent communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly within cross functional and multicultural teams Fluent in English, both written and spoken Skilled at managing multiple tasks concurrently while ensuring timely and high quality deliverables Genuine passion for renewable energy and a strong commitment to advancing sustainable solutions Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving technologies, and fast paced work environments Demonstrates individual drive, takes full ownership of assigned tasks, makes informed decisions, and confidently stands by them What we offer We offer an exciting position with excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development within the global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
