Vestas R&D is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Product Noise & Electromagnetic Effects, part of Onshore Solutions, defines strategies, requirements, technologies, and concepts ensuring compliant and robust noise and electromagnetic environmental performance of Vestas products. We are strengthening the Product Noise team and are looking for a Lead Engineer to support noise-related activities within product development and technology projects. The role is strongly hands-on, with close collaboration across the Noise team and wider R&D organization. The team works across the full noise engineering chain, including: Translating market and regulatory requirements into product noise requirements Breaking down noise performance into clear design targets Predicting turbine noise performance Managing noise-related risks in development projects Noise verification through measurement data analysis Documentation of noise performance for internal and external stakeholders The team is responsible for ensuring compliant, robust, and well-documented noise performance of Vestas products, supporting both new turbine platforms and optimization of existing products. Responsibilities As part of the Product Noise team, you will: Take technical responsibility for Noise-related activities within assigned development projects Analyse, interpret, conclude, and document turbine noise performance based on simulations and measurement data Improve, optimize, and apply noise and vibration workflows, tools, and methods in turbine development Contribute to continuous technology and method development within the noise domain Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support robust noise performance and informed technical decisions Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field, preferably with a specialization in noise and vibration Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with noise and vibration, ideally within the wind energy or automotive industry Experience with programming and data analysis using Python and Matlab Motivation for a holistic, system-level understanding of product performance We welcome engineering professionals who are passionate about data analysis and motivated to grow their careers within the field of Noise & Vibration.
