Junior Architect

Approximately 1 year of experience

About David Thulstrup
David Thulstrup is a Copenhagen-based architect and interior designer working internationally across private homes, transformations, restaurants and hospitality projects.

David founded his studio in 2009 after formative years with Jean Nouvel in Paris and Peter Marino in New York. His work is characterised by material honesty, tactile richness and a strong sense of place, with functionality as a foundation. Landscape, light, materiality and context are central to the work, allowing each project to grow from its surroundings and respond to the people and clients it is created for.

We are a collaborative team working closely with David, clients and partners, taking responsibility for full project delivery from first site visits and concept development to final handover. The projects are unique and international in scope, shaped by David’s direction and carried forward with precision and care.

The role
We are looking for a passionate junior architect who is ready to help create unique places in the world. As part of our team, you will support projects from early concept development to design development and completion. You will contribute to drawings, presentations, research, material studies and visualisations, working closely with David and the project team.

This is a role for someone curious about architecture, interiors, materials and atmosphere, and eager to develop through hands-on project work.

Who you are
You are a junior architect with approximately one year of professional experience. You are interested in David Thulstrup’s approach to architecture and design, where architecture is understood through materiality, atmosphere, context and human experience. You are ready to translate your academic knowledge into practice and contribute with curiosity, care and attention to detail.

You have a collaborative mindset, a strong sense of responsibility and a structured way of working. You understand that good architecture is created through dialogue, consideration and an understanding of people.

We do not expect you to master everything from day one. We do expect openness, adaptability and a willingness to learn.

Skills and tools
You are expected to have some experience with:

  • AutoCAD

  • Rhino

  • Enscape

Experience with other design, visualisation or presentation tools is an advantage.

Software will continue to change, as will the role of AI in the profession. At the studio, we work with clear internal guidelines and value people who are open to developing new tools, workflows and processes.
