Telecommunication Commissioning Engineer

Your position
In your new position as Telecommunication Commissioning Engineer in the Projects division, you will be a valuable member of a dedicated project team delivering telecommunication solutions to complex onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities. The team’s mission is to ensure safe, reliable and high-quality telecom systems from engineering to handover. You will have the chance to work on large-scale FEED and EPIC projects across the Middle East and internationally. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.

Your place of work will primarily be onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities in Qatar and the Middle East region, with opportunities to travel and work on projects in Denmark and Singapore. The position is full-time, and international travel is to be expected.
Your tasks & responsibilities
As a Telecommunication Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning and service activities related to telecommunication systems across FEED and EPIC projects.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Working on fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of telecommunication systems
- Conducting FAT, SAT, installation checks and commissioning of telecom systems
- Supporting lead commissioning engineers and project managers in daily project execution
- Reviewing, preparing and approving drawings, documentation and contractor deliverables
- Supporting and adhering to health, safety and environmental standards in all activities
Your profile & qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and responsible Telecommunication Commissioning Engineer who is passionate about telecom systems within the oil & gas industry and takes ownership of delivering high-quality work. You are structured, adaptable under pressure and thrive in both team-based and independent roles.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering
- 12–15 years of experience in telecom commissioning, including 8–10 years within oil & gas onshore/offshore facilities
- Strong technical expertise in telecom systems such as CCTV, UHF/VHF radios, PA/GA, PABX, IP telephony, telemetry, AIS, ACS, LAN/WAN, fiber optic structured cabling, TETRA radio systems and network management systems
- Proven experience with FEED and EPIC projects (greenfield and brownfield), including engineering, commissioning and handover
- Excellent knowledge of industry standards, HSE requirements and risk management, including HAZID and SIMOPS
In addition, it is an advantage if you have:
- Offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS) and Basic H2S
- Strong planning, multitasking and resource management skills
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio and AutoCAD
