Health and Safety Specialist
We are looking for an experienced and engaged Health & Safety Specialist for our Cement Plant in Aalborg. If you thrive in the heart of the production facilities and have a genuine passion for fostering a safe workplace though open dialogue and close collaboration, then we want to hear from you.
You will work in all the facilities within Aalborg Portland, including the plant, quarry, harbor, terminals and office locations.
You will be part of the Health and Safety department consisting of another employee and you will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager.
Assignments
In this role, your primary assignment will be, in close collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager and the rest of the organization to carry out both in daily operation plus during larger maintenance assignments developing systems and tools to improve Health and Safety.Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementation of tools for managing safety in the workplace and contribute during the development, planning and execution phase .
- Development and updating of the required documentation and procedures related to health and Safety in compliance with Danish legislation, group standards and other relevant regulations.
- Educating, communicating, and continuously improving our approach to creating a safe workplace.
- Participate in audits and in root cause analysis of incidents, including accidents and near misses.
- Participating in follow-up discussions with employees and external stakeholders to promote safety culture.
- Collaborate if required in ongoing and future CAPEX projects.
- Accurately prepare safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Ad hoc support to daily operations related to Health and Safety
Your Profile
Having a thorough understanding of Danish legal – and ISO 45001 requirements including practical experience in managing safety incidents through analytical tools to identify root causes and implement corrective actions is highly valued.Additionally, proficiency in Risk Assessment methodology and tools, as well as expertise in other core safety areas, such as Permit to Work and process optimization, is greatly appreciated.
A solid grasp of Danish workplace legislation is essential, ensuring its effective application in daily operations. As a seasoned specialist, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement safety procedures and policies, establishing a high safety standard across the organization while maintaining a visible and proactive presence in the field.
Having completed the Work Environment Coordinator training (P/B) is considered an advantage.
Additionally, the following qualities are essential:
- Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, with the ability to implement health and safety measures effectively.
- A natural ability to foster and promote a safety-oriented culture across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capability to identify trends and correlations through data analysis.
- Proficiency in both Danish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
